posted Jun 23, 2019, 7:50 PM by Suzanne Parks   [ updated Sep 2, 2019, 5:02 PM ]

There will be a PARTY to truly CELEBRATE Randy and all our wonderful memories of him....  The following is from Randy's family:

If you can, we would love for you to stop by for a Celebration of Randy's life with Anne, Meg and Nicholas on September 14th, any time between 11am-4pm, at 93 Main St, Orleans, MA 02653.

We look forward to seeing many family and friends:  wear a Hawaiian/Tie-Dye shirt or bright colors in Randy's honor.  Great music will be played.

Several of you have asked about donations in his honor:  we have chosen The Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization whose principles he emulated.  www.positivecoach.org

If we've missed inviting anyone that you know loved Randy and would like to know of this event, please feel free to invite them.

Logistics:  Parking is available behind Nauset Middle School.  Park behind the middle school and baseball field/park, accessed from Eldredge Park Way.  It is a 6 minute walk from the house and we can send you a map if needed.

Can't wait to see you, all our love.

And FALL HOCKEYPALOOZA has a new name....  RANDYPALOOZA!!
Going forward, this annual even will be dedicated to Randy, so plan on playing the weekend prior to Thanksgiving!!  We'll do what Nick asked by picking up our sticks and remembering Randy at the same time!!

Randy Richardson

Hi all, I just posted this on FB, but wanted to share it here as well, in case some of you are like me and don't really use FB....  I'll post an update here as soon as I know more.

My dear friend Randy Richardson passed away overnight Friday. I met Randy about a dozen years ago, coaching for the travel FH club Katahdin. Apparently Randy had taken a break from coaching for the club, but he came back when his kids began to play for it. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know Randy as well as have the chance to coach and watch both of his children grow up to become wonderful humans whom I can now call friends. The Richardson family is one of the kindest I have ever and probably will ever know. His son Nick called to tell me the sad news on Saturday morning, and I am just devastated for the family, and anyone else who knew him, as Randy has touched so many lives and I’m sure enriched them all. He was already sorely missed when he and his wife moved to England two years ago. We were so sad to see him go, as our FH community was left with a deep void after his departure. But looking back, I thank goodness that we were given the chance to acknowledge him and how we felt about him while he was still with us. Nick will let me know about services, and I’ll share that information with the FH world on the website, as FB isn’t really my thing. Thanks for reading this, as I process my own grief for such a wonderful man and friend.

Nick asked the following of those of you who knew and loved Randy: hold onto memories as we will make a Gmail for people to write to if they want to share stories, thoughts or prayers with mum, Meg or myself.

ME Elite FH Club (formerly Katahdin) wins Limelight Showcase!!

posted Jun 28, 2015, 1:09 PM by Suzanne Parks   [ updated Sep 8, 2015, 11:04 AM ]

MEFH ending record:  5-0-0.  ME Elite traveled to the Limelight College FH Showcase, held at Bentley University yesterday.  There were 50 teams competing, with the toughest divisions being 1 & 2 day u19 CLUB divisions.  MEFH u19 Club team was made up of HALF u16 players.  Regardless, MEFH emerged as Champions, after defeating "Total Dutch" from NJ, named for their coaches who come from the Netherlands.

The Championship came down to a sudden death shoot-out, after play resulted in a tie (1-1).  The shooter is given 8 seconds to play the ball from the 25yd line & shoot as many times as possible, until time runs out, or a goal is scored.  Portland HS's Lauren McIntyre easily dodged the NJ GK, but hit the L post with her initial shot.  McIntyre had followed the shot & with the GK down, lifted the ball into the net to score for MEFH.

NYA's GK Elizabeth Coughlin came way out of the net to challenge the Total Dutch shooter, diving to stop the first attempt to get around her.  Knocking the ball away from the shooter a total of 3 times, Coughlin denied the NJ shooter a single shot.

Including the Championship game, the MEFH team scored 13 goals, with only 2 against in the entire day.

Congrats MEFH Limelight Showcase Team!!
